Kenyon Disend PLLC - The Municipal Law Firm - was founded in 1993 solely to provide first-class legal services to Washington cities. No other firm like it existed then. And, no other firm like it exists now.

Over the years, we have remained dedicated to our core principles. We provide the highest quality legal services to Washington cities, counties and other public agencies in a timely and comprehensive manner at an exceptional value.

Kenyon Disend is the only firm in the state with a practice devoted to municipal law services, to the virtual exclusion of all other areas of law. We do not sue cities. And we do not represent developers or others with positions adverse to Washington cities.

Mike Kenyon and Bruce Disend, the namesake founders of the Kenyon Disend firm, previously worked in large “skyscraper” offices in major cities. They then made crucial decisions to serve as in-house city attorneys. They learned from the inside what is most important to cities and other municipal entities. With the addition of Shelley M. Kerslake as a Principal of the firm, Kenyon Disend is proud to incorporate its many years of exceptional legal experience into providing the highest quality of service to clients. As in-house city attorneys, Mike, Bruce and Shelley all emphasized three critical things when they looked at hiring outside law firms:

(1) Outstanding legal work product;

(2) Access and timely response from outside counsel; and

(3) Compelling value in return for the expenditure of public funds.

Applying these criteria to our law practice, the firm has grown to more than a dozen attorneys. In addition, our trusted attorneys can meet client needs by serving as independent legal counsel or by supporting the in-house legal team.
